So the plan was to get there with a couple of friends….after a little (read lot) of phone calls and coordination…we got there….no it was not in South America…only here at Baker street…one tube ride away. Anyways…instead of writing long sentences about my experience at Tattoo 2010, let me just write a few words….in no specific order or sequence….

Sean Hanna….wristbands….emotional blackmail….food (read the lack of it!)…alcohol…more alcohol…and some more alcohol…dancing…crazy dancing…music…more alcohol…..bus ride….1.5 hour of queue….crazy men and women…bouncers….a hell of a cab ride….wasted money on wasted people…and a lost iPhone!

Hopefully I will be wiser in 2011!

I woke up this morning….and it was…a different feeling….not to turn around and see someone next to you….every step seems laborious….and time consuming….it always amazes me how human beings adapt to things so quickly….and the unadapt themselves even quicker….

They say sometimes the hardest thing to do is the right thing…but why do I keep feeling that although this was hard, it probably is not right….well, time will tell….and I’ll wait…

At this moment, all I want to do is let you know that I’m around…because it hurts me to see you hurt….

Never make someone a priority in your life, when you are only an option in theirs.

Very true….but the question is, is it always evident in black and white whether or not you are just an option…?

So..it’s been nearly as long since I turned 30….have I turned any wiser…erm..no…any grey hair…fortunately not….well really nothing significant has happened yet…

According to Ms.Von Strunckel, it’s that period of my life when I will do something that I have been postponing for a long time now…something that will change my life…and put it back on track maybe?!? Yeah I would love to do that…provided I knew which track to get on next?

It’s funny…because life is moving at a really really fast pace at this moment…my calendar is double booked on most days…..not so weird for me 10 years ago…but definitely now!!! But at the same time…i feel that something in my life seems to be stuck where it was a few years ago….it’s just not moving….it’s an extremely confusing feeling…it’s like you are driving at a 100mph speed but then turn around to see that you are still at the starting line….how does that happen?

There are nights when I wake up….and there are a zillion thoughts in my head…zillion problems….and I try hard to shut those thoughts out…and go back to sleep…my mood changes by the second….at one second I’m this chirpy vivacious talkative person…and all of a sudden I remember something that makes me go into a radio silence….an I’m in that state of thoughtlessnes….

Well…I guess what frustrates me most…is sub consciously I know why I feel this way…..and it is frustrating not because I know but because someone such as me has still let it linger on….!!!!

I have met so many interesting people over the last few months….some more interesting than the other….some whom I could spend just hours talking to…..and people who seem to think I’m smart…haha…feels good….hmmmm…I get the feeling it’s going to be one evening…one coffee…one conversation….that’s going to change everything…:-)…fingers crossed…

Right now…it’s back to studying….

Until a few months ago, I never really understood the hoo ha about the big-3-oh…not that I understand it now ….but I guess now I am able to appreciate the building anxiety amongst people who turn 30.

I woke up this morning….having dreamt the most dreadful dream…the worst fear of my life come true….it’s funny though how this dream has occurred in my real life…not once but a few times and I still feel the same fear about it….

Opening my eyes I was partly relieved that it was only a dream….and partly upset with myself that I can still let it affect me so much!

On the bus ride to work my thoughts drifted to a few incidents over the last few years…..yeah I can think quite fast ….some of these made me proud….others made me smile….but most left me with the same question “What was I thinking?”

Tomorrow as I turn 30, I would not like to look back at what has happened…but look forward….positively. I would like to make decisions that will not just keep others pleased…but me happy…..I would like to do what I want to do without the slightest fear….I would like to be with people who are proud to be with me….I would like to continue bringing a smile on others’ face….but at the same time raise my expectations of those around me and say “hey, it’s time I smiled too”….

When I turned 21 – I remember myself as a confident young woman…stepping out of my parents’ house for the first time…heading out to Mumbai….the city of opportunities….with a handful of cash but a giant bundle of dreams….

9 years later….I am in London….no better with cash J…but a giant bundle of experiences…..

10 years down the lane when I hit the next milestone….I want to be able to say …..”with a giant bundle of realised dreams!”…

The assets may have been acquired at a historical acquisition cost, but a revaluation of these is done to reflect the current value of these.

What has been utilised of the asset so far is called the realised revenue – full stop!

Once the asset depreciates completely it is off the balance sheet ….

These are not just things applicable to firms and shareholders and investors….how true is it in real life I wonder?

An individual is not measured for his/her worth by what he/she has done in the past….it is all about the present value of your future worth – what are you worth in the future…is there any benefit from you going forward or has all potential benefit been realised – and you are now a completely depreciated asset…..?

My friend thinks I am a complete cynic….towards life.

But I speak my mind…

Isn’t it absolutely silly, I ask, to say “Oh but I did this for you all this time?” Yes, ofcourse you did, but you are only as worthy to me as your future benefits to me are….LOL…sounds harsh doesn’t it?

My lecturer at school said all students of philosophy end up doing one thing at one point in their life – Accounting…wonder whether the reverse holds true for me?!?

The weekend itself started on an excellent key note by the school’s Dean…….I was struck by his simplicity and humiliy even amidst such achievements…It was followed by a somewhat obviously crazy game…the Trading game…we were trading foreign exchange…it was interesting to see personalities transforming……some people took it a tad too passionately but at the end of it all…I guess the purpose was served…the ice was broken!

If yesterday was all about fun, drinking and professional photography…today was the complete opposite end of the spectrum.

To be honest, I am still digesting some of the vocabulary in the class….let alone the concepts. The professor is wonderful..like most faculty at LBS….but I guess the reality of what I have embarked on hit me rather in a rude way…I was amidst 75 other bright students….and nearly 72 of them have a strong finance background….and the course is a masters degree in Finance…

My takeaway from the lecture today….read, practice….read more…and more practice….more reading…practice more…that in a while loop, with the exit condition = maintain the balance!

While for some it marks the 8th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks….and my thoughts go out to all those who were affected…for others such as myself, it marks the journey of a new beginning….a journey that is full of surprises, challenges and achievements!

I start school today….it’s been 5 years since I went to school…and my circumstances now are nowhere close to what they were 5 years ago…there have been so many changes…while some have been for the better…others probably not so!

Here’s wishing me all the best…to cope with all the ups and downs that are due in the journey ahead.
